Social Play
Social play helps children learn to relate to others and make friends. It also teaches them about sharing and how to interact with other children all of which are key elements for social inclusion, adjustment and well-being.
It is important for children to socialise from a young age. The more they socialise the more accustomed they will become to being with other children, learning to share and co-operate and it will prepare them for school.
When children enter the school system knowing how to share, interact and co-operate with others is vital for them to have a positive school experience. Studies have found that children who don’t like school and find it difficult adjusting to the change are more likely to have had little contact with other children in their lives. They find it hard to socially interact and feel that they don’t fit in.
Interaction with others is a part of every day life and is important to learn from a young age.
